REPORTS TO: Project Manager

  • Ability to prepare civil construction plans for street, drainage, water, wastewater, grading, site layouts and utility plans
  • Works closely with Project Managers to prepare engineering plans by drawing system, components, and parts, preliminary thru final stage
  • Prepare construction documents anticipating project needs and deliverables.
  • Create and maintain the geometric and utility base files with given criteria
  • Create and maintain the horizontal alignment and vertical database files
  • Develop profiles, corridors, surfaces and earthworks using Civil 3D
  • Modify construction documents to reflect agency review comments
  • Produce quantities and cost estimates
  • Prepare final drawings by studying engineering sketches, specifications, and supporting documents; developing a layout of the system, components, and parts; drawing multiple views of the system, components, and parts; depicting relationship of components and parts; identifying dimensions, angles, curvatures, tolerances, and materials
  • Prepare rough sketches by studying engineering specifications; creating a picture of the system, components and parts
  • Identify and verify specifications by examining engineering documents; performing calculations
  • Modify drawings by studying changes; redrawing system, components, and parts; changing identifications
  • Resolve discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information; conferring with engineers
  • Keeps equipment operational by following manufacturer’s instructions and established procedures
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
  • Coordinate with Clients/Subconsultants
  • Help manage projects
  • Delegate Responsibilities
  • Review Plans/Quality Control
  • Associate’s degree in CAD
  • Minimum of 4 years of civil design experience
  • Proficient in using AutoCAD, CAD, MicroStation Civil 3D for the past 4 years
  • Effective listening, verbal and written communication skill
  • Must be detail oriented and very well organized
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
