Job Description:
Telecommunications Company safely provides comprehensive infrastructure services to fiber, wireline and wireless carrier customers within the communications industry. We are seeking a Fielder to develop accurate fiber/optical network construction estimates.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Estimation/ locating
  • Develop accurate fiber/optical network construction estimates
  • Develop accurate network documentation/schematics
  • Conduct site surveys
  • Locate fiber optic cables
  • Draw and stake new construction opportunities
  • Construction
  • Install/coordinate equipment installation
  • Perform maintenance of fiber optic cable
  • Inspect the work of construction contractors
  • Additional duties as needed and or assigned
Job Requirements:
  • Motivated self-starter with a passion and drive to start and complete project
  • Experience and understanding of outside plant construction techniques
  • Knowledge of fiber networking, routing, switching and network management
  • Exceptional service orientation - experience in providing customer service and support that exceeds the expectations of internal and external clients
  • Experience with project management processes, tools, and the ability to coordinate multiple projects with reproducible results
  • Great communication skills – written and verbal
  • Excellent problem solving and trouble resolution abilities
  • Attention to detail
Physical Requirements:
  • Walking out in the weather for approximately between 1 to 2 miles daily
  • Carrying gear as he/she walks, i.e. Trimble unit maybe 2 lbs, height stick 7 lbs, clipboard , wheel (Possibly) 5 lbs, camera, etc.
  • “Working” the height stick up and down to detect points of attachment heights on existing utilities upwards of 35’ in the air on a pole in various weather conditions.
  • Occasionally lifting MH/HH lids to look at utilities Lids can be anywhere from 50 lbs to 75 lbs or more
  • Moving small limbs/brush out of the way around a pole
  • Normal contortions and twisting of the job
